Japanese Culture

I tell you about “Yukata” It is a Japanese summer kimono worn by both women and men. It is very popular among wide ages because the cost is cheap and it’s also easy to wear. The name of Yukata is come from the word "yu" (bath) and "katabira" (under clothing). First it was worn by samurai then by the common people after taking a bath in Edo period. Now Japanese people wear it when they go to Japanese summer festival, firework and the Bon dancing, and so on. Also you can wear it in Japanese-style hotel instead of the pajama. And there are many matching accessories with Yukata, for example Geta, Bag, and Utiwa (Japanese fan).Recently the design and the color has much variation. Young women cut the length and show their calf. And in addition to the traditional colors like indigo blue, black, and white, they wear new color pink, blue, and yellow.
